Girls and women can become the atmosphere which is life-giving support to a leader, a bus captain, a preacher, a teacher, a dad, or a husband. Just as the earth could not continue in existence without the atmosphere, so are we that important to every situation and person with whom we interact.

Watch a good woman walk into a restaurant—perhaps one in which even a rowdy party is taking place. Check the change in atmosphere as she moves in the beauty of the Lord. I don’t say it will happen every time, but it will happen. “The steps of a good man [or woman] are ordered by the Lord….” (Psalm 37:23) Those steps are so designed by Him to influence every person within the reach of the atmosphere she sets. Are you setting a good or bad atmosphere by your sweet or sour spirit?

• Do people associate cheer, happiness, gladness, beauty, strength, fun, excitement, love, purity, peace, joy, gentleness, kindness, and goodness with the aura that surrounds you?

• Are you a wounded spirit, associated with blackness and gossip? “The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.” (Proverbs 18:8)

• Do hatred, strife, and wrath characterize you? “He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding.…” (Proverbs 14:29)

• Does heaviness mark your life? “Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.” (Proverbs 12:25)

• Do you hate reproof and refuse instruction? “He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding.” (Proverbs 15:32)

The atmosphere extends to a height of 22,000 miles! This means the atmosphere is never-ending. The atmosphere rotates with the earth! Women also are the supporting element of the home and church. The atmosphere permeates! It pervades, permeates, and saturates like water soaks through a sponge. It surrounds as a general mood our social environment or tone. The atmosphere has an interesting effect. Ladies, let’s have a positive effect in our homes and churches.
