Today at the grocery store, I was whistling a tune but didn’t realize I was until a man looked at me and said, “I like your whistling; you must be a happy person.” Yes, I am a happy person because God loves me. God loves me always!

As a wife, mother, Sunday school teacher, soul winner,  Christian, daughter, friend, work supervisor and so forth, there are moments and days when I feel like I am a failure and no one loves me. Often, that old devil will be the one to remind me of my failure. I will be the first to agree with him. I cannot be a happy, rejoicing Christian while living in the depths of despair with “failure thinking.” So I run to the Bible and get a dose of God’s love. I’ve learned that Psalm 139 is very strong medicine when I am experiencing “failure thinking.”

  1. “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.” (Psalm 139:14) Wow! God already knows what a contentious wife I can be (even though I don’t want to be). Yet, He loves me always.
  2. “For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether.” (Psalm 139:4) Wow! God already knows my mothering ability can be at a record low, yet God loves me always.
  3. “Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.” (Psalm 139:5, 6) Wow! God already knows that my steps today as a Christian were pretty feeble, yet God loves me always.

Every moment of every day that I am a happy, rejoicing Christian is because I know that God loves me always. How thankful I am that God loves me always, yet God has enough love for you too—always!
